Ranchi Rajdhani Express derailed!! Making it 3 of the day

This is really regretful to inform that in 3 rail accidents occured on same day. Seven coaches of Jabalpur-bound Shaktipunj Express jumped the track near Obra Dam station in Sonbhadra district and two coaches of a goods train derailed in Maharashtra, besides the Delhi-bound Rajdhani Express.

The Ranchi Rajdhani Express’ locomotive and powercar(Genrator Car) derailed about 200 meters away New Delhi station.
“Portions of the track have been found broken, but we have to investigate whether it was already damaged or they broke after the accident as a result of the impact,” said Anshul Gupta, Divisional Railway Manager (Delhi), who was personally monitoring the rescue operation.
On these issues of derailment Minister of Railways had a High level meeting to ensure safety in trains.

In India we are familiar to only on system of trains that is a locomotive leading the coaches (I say it as  leading power system ). This system is neither safe,fast nor efficient. For the replacement of these few countries have introduced  Trainset System.  Trainset system train used in paris. What are Trainsets? Trainsets are just coaches having their own traction motors for each pair of wheels which are controlled by a controller system present in the first and/or last coach in the set. Why they are fast? Know about ‘First Ever’ solar powered DEMU!!

The solared power DEMU is going was been tested for it’s reliablity and power consuption in Jodhpur division (NWR).It would be running between Delhi and Farukhnagar. Indian Railways are in their way to use more and more of renewable resources to run their train.The solar powered DEMU consisting of 6 coaches with solar panel on it’s roofs. Last year, Northern Railways had fitted one coach of the Rewari-Sitapur passenger with solar panels. However, this would be the first DEMU (Diesel Electric Multiple Unit) broad gauge train, in which all coaches have solar panels, says Railways. Solar panel fitted coaches already run on narrow-gauge trains plying on Pathankot-Jogindernagar route in Kangra Valley section and Kalka-Shimla section.
